Out-Of-Office Message

If you will be away for any length of time, you may want to send an automatic reply to anyone who sends you an email to tell them you are away. Depending on your email system, there may be one or more ways to achieve this.

OUTLOOK/EXCHANGE OUT-OF-OFFICE ASSISTANT
If your are using an Exchange Email Server, you can set an Out-Of-Office message.

This is something you can do yourself, but is only available if you are using an Exchange Server and must be done before you leave.

If you have an in-house Exchange server, or using a Hosted Exchange server, like LanLogic, then you have this feature. See more information here.

WEBMAIL AUTO-REPLY MESSAGE
You email system may give you the ability to set an auto-reply message that you can setup in webmail.

This is something you can do yourself and can even be done after you leave, but is not available on all email servers.

OUTLOOK EMAIL RULE
You can set up a rule in Outlook that says that everytime a new email message arrives in your InBox, send a reply.
To do this go into Outlook, Tools > Rules & Alerts > create a new rule.

This is something you can do yourself, but must be done before you leave and isn't the easiest thiing to set up. More importantly: your PC must be kept with Outlook running while you are away, which may not be possible.

EMAIL SERVER AUTO-REPLY
Your email server may have the ability to have an Auto-Reply feature setup, but this must be done by the server administrator. If your email server thas this feature we can set this up for you.

This feature is not available on all email servers, and is not something you can setup yourself.

If you have are using an Earthlink Email Server, this is a feature that we can setup for you.
