KEEP YOUR PC TURNED ON AT NIGHT

Under normal circumstances, you should keep your PC turned on at night.
You computer is set to receive important security updates during the night and won't be able to accept them if it is turned off.

When you Log Off you prevent anyone else from accessing your PC (and the server if applicable), but still allow your PC to receive the important nightly updates. It also ensures that you are out of all your programs, which is often very important for the backup to run properly.

On a regular basis, it's still a good idea to turn off your computer, but rather than telling it to Turn Off, use the Restart feature. This will power down the PC and start it right back up again.

Some people find that it's easiest to Log Off each night, and perform a Restart at night on Friday. Others find it easier to just do a Restart each night.

Get into the habit of using the Log Off or Restart features of your PC at night.

ADDITIONAL BENEFIT: If you logoff each night, it helps ensure that you have closed all your computer programs, which is important if you have any backup software that runs at night.
