On January 1st, 2007, Microsoft released a newer version of Windows Defender, which is their free
anti-spyware program which we use and recommend.

On some computers, we've found that it was not updated and is causing an error message:

to appear when you log on to your PC.


To fix this we simply need to reinstall it.
You can do it yourself, or let us know if you would like us to do it for you.

To fix it yourself, simply re-install it by clicking here, and then following the instructions closely:




If for any reason it won't reinstall properly, you may need to manually uninstall WindowsDefender
and then reinstall it.

START > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > remove Windows Defender

Reboot your PC.
